A YOUNG woman has died in a road collision in Somerset.
A man was also seriously injured in the fatal collision involving a car and a van on the A303.
The incident happened near the Wincanton area at around 11.20pm on Thursday (August 18).
The woman, who was in her 20s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Her family have been informed and our thoughts are with them.
"They are receiving support from a specially trained officer."
The spokesperson added that the van driver was taken to hospital with "serious injuries, where he currently remains".
