PRIMARY school pupils dressed up as animals for a 'Wear it Wild' dress up day for WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).

Students at Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School raised £71 wore a variety of costumes, from cows to crocodiles.

The school council worked alongside the school eco team to organise the day, which was held on Friday, January 28.

Steve Morton, head of the school near Chard, said: “It was a great opportunity to participate in the ‘Wear it wild’ day supporting such a fabulous cause, whilst having some fun.

"The children absolutely loved it and the WWF do such amazing work.”

Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School is part of The Redstart Learning Partnership.

A spokesperson from the partnership added: “As a trust we were delighted to see Buckland participate in such a great initiative and cause.

"The children looked absolutely fantastic dressed as such a wide range of animals from all over the world and the icing on the cake was the money that they raised for the WWF.”
