SOMERSET is bracing itself for heavy rain later today (Monday, October 4).
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for the county and the rest of the South West.
We can expect a few showers around 1pm followed by a couple of hours of heavy downpours from about 2pm onwards.
The rain is forecast to ease off later in the afternoon.
But from 7pm until midnight the skies will open again.
The Met Office is warning that the heavy rain is "likely to produce some disruption this evening and overnight".
A few homes and businesses could potentially be flooded, while bus and train services will likely be affected, with journey times taking longer
Spray and flooding on roads will make journey times longer
