Tributes are taking place across the UK today to mark 25 years since the September 11 attacks.
A minute’s silence will be observed by firefighters across the UK to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Memorial events are also taking place in London.
The September 11, 2001, attacks killed nearly 3,000 people, including some British citizens.

Firefighters to hold minute's silence today to remember 9/11
The silence will be held today at 1.46pm UK time, marking when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) posted on X: "#WeRemember the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 terror attacks, 25 years ago today.
"Many more firefighters have since suffered from diseases likely linked to toxic substances present at ground zero.
"Today, Firefighters will observe a minute's silence at 13.46 – the time in the UK when the first plane impacted the North Tower of the World Trade Center."
Memorial events are taking place across the UK, including in London and in the US, where a ceremony will be held at the World Trade Center site.
In London, a service is being held at the 9/11 memorial sculpture in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are expected to take the Royal Salute on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace on behalf of the King, alongside US Ambassador Warren Stephens.
Earlier today, Mr Stephens was pictured laying a wreath at the 9/11 Memorial Garden in Grosvenor Square, where he paid tribute to the British victims.
Mr Stephens said: "Harriet and I want to pay our respects to the 67 UK citizens who were killed on 9/11 25 years ago."
He described the attacks as "a tragedy none of us will ever forget."
This year, firefighters across the UK also took part in a memorial stair climb, ascending 110 floors in solidarity with their US colleagues.
It was the largest international movement of firefighters for a memorial event in UK history.
Earlier this year, the Commissioner of the Met Police paid tribute on behalf of the Met by laying a wreath at the National September 11 Memorial in New York.

What happened on 9/11?
The 9/11 attacks remain the deadliest terrorist act in history and resulted in the deaths of 2,977 people, including 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers.
On September 11, 2001, members of the terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial airliners.
Two planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing both towers to collapse.
A third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia.
The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to regain control from the hijackers.
The attacks led to the launch of the US-led Global War on Terror.
Extensive damage and loss of life also led to the creation of several memorials, including the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York.
Six new buildings were planned to replace the lost towers at the World Trade Center site, along with a museum and memorial.
The tallest building, One World Trade Center, began construction in 2006 and opened in 2014.
Memorials to the attacks also include the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington County, Virginia and the Flight 93 National Memorial at the Pennsylvania crash site.
