The BBC has axed RuPaul's Drag Race UK after 11 series.
The popular reality show, which first aired in 2019, brought the global drag competition to British screens and quickly became a staple of the BBC’s programming.
Hosted by RuPaul, the series saw drag queens from across the UK compete in weekly challenges for the title of the UK’s next drag superstar.
The iconic American drag queen also sat on the judging panel alongside Michelle Visage, Graham Norton, and Alan Carr.
Guest judges over the years have included Andrew Garfield, Hannah Waddingham, Geri Horner, and Liz Hurley.
Notable contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race UK include:
- The Vivienne (series 1 winner)
- Baga Chipz (series 1)
- Bimini Bon-Boulash (series 2 runner-up)
- Tia Kofi (series 2)
- Danny Beard (series 4 winner)
- La Voix (series 6 runner-up)
The show also spawned the spin-off series RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World.
BBC axes RuPaul's Drag Race UK
Now, after 11 series (including RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World), the BBC has confirmed it will be axing RuPaul's Drag Race UK.
A BBC spokesperson said: “As the BBC continues to navigate significant financial pressures and deliver the savings required of us, we have had to make some very difficult choices, none of which have been taken lightly.
“We can therefore confirm, together with World of Wonder, that RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will be leaving the BBC and moving to WOW Presents Plus.
“The BBC is incredibly proud of all eleven series of this ground-breaking show and we would like to thank RuPaul, World of Wonder and everyone involved, both on and off screen.
“We are certain that viewers will enjoy the eighth series, which is currently airing on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three.”

RuPaul's Drag Race UK will now move to WOW Presents Plus.
The eighth series is currently airing on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three.
