I’m a Celebrity campmates have been busted trying to bring contraband into camp.

This year’s celebrities were forced to leave Gwrych Castle over the weekend as Storm Arwen struck.

Celebrities returned individually to quarantine to ensure they remain Covid secure and they will then be back at the castle once the whole production is safely re-established.

However, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have revealed the campmates tried to smuggle contraband into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! castle after spending time in quarantine after the site was damaged by Storm Arwen.

Contraband in I’m a Celebrity camp

The campmates attempted to take fake tan, Fruittella and Werther’s Originals sweets, alongside apples and Nescafe vanilla coffee back into Gwrych Castle, north Wales.

In Wednesday’s episode, co-host Donnelly said: “The celebs are all back in the castle but that doesn’t mean they didn’t try it on. What you didn’t see was the contraband we caught them trying to smuggle in.”

McPartlin added: “This is genuine, this is what they tried to smuggle in: we’ve got boiled sweets, breakfast biscuits – why? – and of course fake tan, a nail file and Vaseline.”

Donnelly said: “Wow, where were they quarantining, Superdrug?”

McPartlin replied: “Don’t be silly, it was Boots.”
