A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of the grandson of Specials singer Neville Staple, police said.
Fidel Glasgow, 21, died in hospital less than 12 hours after being stabbed in Coventry during an altercation near the Club M nightspot in the early hours of September 1.
A 23-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on Monday and is being questioned, West Midlands Police said.
Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “We have not let up in our search for Fidel’s killer and this is significant progress in our investigation.
“However this does not mean that we no longer need witnesses to come forward.
“I am still appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. It may be the crucial bit of the jigsaw that we need.
“Fidel’s family have been fully updated with the latest development and continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
It follows a public appeal from Mr Staple and other family members for anyone with information to speak to the police.
At a press conference last week, he said: “There’s a lot of people who tried to help and step in, so those are the kind of people we need to come forward and say what they saw, and what they did to help.”
