A charity quiz night in South Somerset has raised more than £1,000 to support children with life-limiting conditions.
The event, organised by the Ilminster team at Amicus Law and held at The Shrubbery Hotel, raised £1,041.25 for Children’s Hospice South West.
The charity, chosen as the firm’s charity of the year, provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the region.
Erin Darling-Finan, head of the Ilminster office at Amicus Law, said: "We are absolutely blown away by the support we received from the local community.
"To raise over £1,000 from a single event is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and contributed towards our raffle.
"We are extremely grateful to The Shrubbery Hotel, Lucie and the team at Children’s Hospice South West, and all those who helped make the evening such a success!"
Throughout the year, Amicus Law plans to support the charity through a series of fundraising activities, with the quiz night being one of several events.
Lucie Perryman from Children’s Hospice South West attended the event and spoke to guests about the impact of the charity’s work.
The quiz saw participation from 15 businesses across the county and was warmly supported by the wider community.
Children’s Hospice South West provides expert care, respite and emotional support to children with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones.
Ms Darling-Finan said: "On behalf of everyone at Amicus Law, we would like to thank everyone who attended the event, donated, supplied raffle prizes and contributed to the evening's success.
"Their support will make such a meaningful difference and will help ensure the charity can continue its important work for families across the South West."
Funds raised from the evening will help the charity continue providing vital care and support services to families in need.
Further fundraising events hosted by Amicus Law in support of Children’s Hospice South West will be announced later in the year.
