A PUB near Ilminster has undertaken a ‘major expansion project’, opening new rooms, a sustainable market garden, and holiday lets to 'complement the overall experience'.
The Barrington Boar, located in Barrington, between Ilminster and Langport, has announced a ‘significant expansion’, with the completion of Two Baker’s Farm – a redeveloped farmhouse adjacent to the award-winning pub and restaurant.
The Barrington Boar now offers three different accommodation options: self-catering holiday lets, traditional bed and breakfast (B&B) rooms, and farmhouse accommodation.

The Hayloft and Smithy, two new, self-contained holiday lets adjacent to the country pub, feature ‘spacious bedrooms’, lounging and dining areas, and fully equipped kitchens.
The traditional B&B rooms offer four ensuite rooms to pick from within the pub’s main site, overlooking the garden and just a few steps from the restaurant.
The farmhouse accommodation includes four additional ensuite B&B rooms at Two Bakers Farm, located next door.
This also comes with a pantry area, honesty bar, and lounge spaces within the renovated farmhouse.
Each room is named after local apple varieties grown in the Burrow Hill & Somerset Cider Brandy's orchards.
Under husband-and-wife team Chef Alasdair Clifford and Victoria Collins since 2018, the pub has evolved into a ‘comprehensive hospitality destination’ that now includes The Barrington Bakery, a courtyard seating area, and a Market Garden – supplying organic produce to the restaurant.

Alasdair and Victoria said: "We're incredibly proud to expand The Barrington Boar with Two Baker's Farm, representing our deep commitment to sustainable excellence.
"Every element reflects our dedication to working directly with local growers, butchers, and farmers while cultivating our own organic produce.

"We've implemented comprehensive waste management from nose-to-tail cooking to full composting, eliminated single-use plastics, and reduced our environmental footprint through energy efficiency and on-site growing.

"Foraging locally and growing ingredients on-site ensures maximum freshness with minimal carbon emissions.
"This isn't just luxury accommodation - it's creating a holistic ecosystem where sustainability, ethical sourcing, and exceptional hospitality work in perfect harmony."
