HERNE View Primary School, Ilminster had a very special visitor last week when Father Christmas came with presents for every class.
The Forest School teacher came in one morning to find that his log cabin had been transformed into a grotto and his forest school area hung with decorations as the special visitor made himself quite at home (with help from the elves).
Every class, across year groups and the pre-school enjoyed time going to chat with Father Christmas where they shared their hopes for Christmas and checked that he had received their letters.
The children were slightly disappointed that the flying reindeer were nowhere to be seen but after the teachers explaining they were resting before Christmas eve the children focused on enjoying their time with Santa.
According to a spokesperson the children really enjoyed the “magical experience”.
"I really loved seeing Santa and telling him what I want for Christmas," Finley, a Year two student said.
"That was so much fun I love Santa," Roxy, another Year two student said.
“The grotto was so amazing because there were presents outside the door and snowflakes hanging down,” Roxy, their classmate in Year two said.
“I liked Father Christmas because he asked us what we wanted, and I said I want everyone to be happy,” Spencer in Year two added.
