Ilminster Town were not at their best as they extended their winning streak to double figures with an away victory at Worle.
The win, their 10th in a row, keeps them neck and neck with Nailsea United at the very summit of the Somerset County Premier League table.
Despite a slow start, which saw the home side take an early lead, Ilminster responded with Lee Sweet's in-swinging corner finding the back of the net for an equaliser.
Josh Phillips then put Ilminster ahead, first hitting the post and then scoring from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box.
Phillips struck again just before half-time, heading home a free kick delivered by Sweet, giving Ilminster a 3-1 lead at the break.
Kieran Manley replaced an unwell Kane Lee at half-time and nearly made an immediate impact, hitting the crossbar with a shot.
However, Worle managed to reduce the deficit with a header from a corner on the hour mark.
Ilminster comfortably managed the remaining half hour, aided by Worle being reduced to 10 men after a player was sent to the sin bin.
For Ilminster, Harry Manley was solid, while Jack Steer and Lee Sweet both had good games.
The standout performance came from Josh Phillips, who was the difference with his two goals.
Ilminster Town are next in action against Stockwood Wanderers at the Archie Gooch Pavilion.
The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, October 14.
The Blues remain in fierce competition with Nailsea United for the top spot in the league, with both teams currently only separated by goal difference.
