A ROAD in Ilminster town centre will be closed for 12 days.

Silver Street will close on January 22 to allow National Grid to carry out underground cabling works.

The road closure will be in place until February 2 and a diversion will be in place.

A spokesperson for Somerset Council said: “The works are expected to commence on January 22 2024 and last for 12 days to enable National Grid to carry out underground cabling works.

“The contractor has indicated that access to emergency services through the site is not permitted on this occasion.

“For any further information about this closure please contact National Grid on 0146 027 3071, quoting reference: ttro782735S.

“Please note that should you require to view a closure that is more than two weeks ahead, you will need to register for free with one network.”
