A PRIMARY school in Ilminster celebrated Christmas with a series of events which also included a visit from Santa.

Pupils at Herne View Primary School enjoyed a visit from Santa who came by helicopter last week.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Herne View had a very special visitor when Father Christmas came but instead of flying by reindeer, he came by helicopter with the crew from RNAS Yeovilton.

“This was a truly magical experience where we all shared in the wonder of Christmas and everyone loved meeting Father Christmas and the crew when they landed on the school field at Ditton St and came to talk to the children.

“Two children had an extra special surprise when they found out their father was the one piloting Father Christmas.

“Our thanks go to all the crew from RNAS Yeovilton for the magic and sparkle they brought to Herne View this Christmas.”
