A HAIR salon in the heart of Ilminster will hold a party to celebrate its 10th anniversary with its customers.

Ilminster Hair and Beauty, in the old Dyers building, will celebrate with a drinks party on Friday, November 24.

Salon owner, Emma Broom, took over one-half of the old Dyers building in November 2013.

With the help of the family, she refitted and decorated the salon, keeping many of the old beautiful shelving and features and adding an antique desk and chandeliers.

In 2014, another portion of the old Dyers building became available, so the salon extended to provide more beauty areas with private treatment rooms.

Chard & Ilminster News:

Emma said: “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. The last few have been particularly trying and I can honestly say that without the wonderful group of girls that work here now, I’m not sure how we would’ve coped. They have really stepped up when I needed them.

“The salon has a really happy and friendly atmosphere. Every day we laugh, and I believe it’s because we aren’t just working colleagues, we are friends and I’d like to thank them all for everything - they really do make going to work a pleasure.

“I’d also like to thank my family; I couldn’t do it without all your help and love.

“And of course, all of our clients for their continued support. We look forward to seeing you on the 24th.”

The salon team also said that “since then the salon has gone from strength to strength, offering all aspects of hairdressing, including cutting styling, colouring, perming and occasion/wedding hair, and beauty treatments".

They also provide manicures, pedicures, facials, massage, waxing, lash, lifting, brow shaping and tinting, reflexology, Indian head massage, and Hopi ear candling.

Laser hair removal, using a top-of-the-range diode laser and ascetics, including Botox chemical peels, fillers, micro needling, skin medi facials, and anti-wrinkle treatment.
