14 & Sixpence boutique moves to Ilminster

The world of 14 & Sixpence, established in 2014, has been spinning for nine years now and has now relocated from a grade 2 listed building in Taunton to a barn just outside of Ilminster.

Set in the very pretty Ashwell Business Park, the bridal and prom boutique offers a fabulous selection of designer dresses, all exclusive to them in this area.

The ground floor welcomes you to a world of red-carpet glamour and bridesmaids’ dresses, as well as an alterations room.

The bridal rooms are situated upstairs where the light is amazing as it shows off the shimmer and detail of the dresses perfectly.

A quote on the wall - ‘Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away’. It’s all about the experience… the memory of finding that dream dress.

Cathy, the boutique owner, likes to work by appointment only, so she can work with everyone who’s looking for a dream dress.

She’s there from the ‘I said Yes’ emotional moments, raising a glass with your closest family or friends, through choosing the perfect veil or accessories, alterations, and of course collecting your precious dress the week of your ‘Big Day’.

“Moving in the height of the season, really wasn’t the plan, so it’s been pretty bonkers. I can’t believe we’ve been here nearly three months already.

"The new picturesque location is nicely situated for surrounding towns and offers the ‘Icing on the cake’.

“What we had in Taunton was lovely. We had the service, we had the dresses but we now have a peaceful and pretty setting to remember such a special moment.

"14 & Sixpence have had hundreds of happy customers and their reviews and awards are a testament to that.

“I can’t wait to continue the ride as we head into our next chapter and really looking forward to meeting lots of new brides and next season’s prom queens."
