The new name will be Herne View Church of England Primary School, and the pre-schools will become Apple Orchard Pre-Schools.
Children, families and the Ilminster community are invited to participate in the schools new logo competition, to help design a new logo for the school and pre-schools.
The closing date for the entries is Thursday, March 31 2022.
All entries should be posted through the front door of Greenfylde First School or emailed to greenfylde@educ.somerset.gov.uk.
Claire Oaten, headteacher of Greenfylde First School, said: "The winning design will be chosen on April 1 and sent to a digital designer ready to be added to the new uniform.
"The logo will then be used on all communication, on our social media and website. There will also be a prize for the individual whose design is chosen."
