A VAN and a lorry were involved in a crash on a main road in Somerset earlier today (March 19).
At around 11.30am, emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A358 near the Ilminster roundabout.
One fire engine from Ilminster and one from Chard attended the incident along with an operational officer.
"Once on scene crews confirmed one RTC involving one van and one lorry and requested the heavy rescue vehicle from Taunton to attend," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"Crews successfully extricated driver of van using hydraulic rescue gear and handed casualty over the paramedics."
