VISITORS enjoyed a trip to the monthly market at Ilton Village Hall on Saturday (January 8).

The markets, held on the first Saturday of each month from 10am until 2pm, were started to give people catch up, shop and give crafters and sellers a place to sell.

No stallholders are charged for entry and refreshment prices are low, but any profits made goes to the hall to help and maintain it when needed.

Jemma Harris, organiser, said: "We are thankful to everyone who comes along and supports us and our stall holders. The day went well but fairly quiet, unfortunately the weather isn't always on our side.

"As Covid had caused many local people to become isolated it was great to restart the monthly markets in line with guidance so everyone could meet again after so long and we are looking forward to our February Market on Saturday, February 5, which will offer more stalls, and pancakes as well as bacon rolls."
