A POP-UP Christmas Sale showcasing the best of Somerset's independent businesses is taking place near Ilminster next month.

The Somerset Collective, launched in 2015 by Nicky Mendoza-Wilson and her business partner Gemma Bond, returns to Jordan's Courtyard on Sunday, November 14 and Monday, November 15.

The collective began in Bruton, hosting regular pop-up sales offering a range of products from food and drink, toys, accessories, bath and skincare, fashion, artwork and more.

In 2018, Jess Hyde took over and expanded the sales to more venues including Jordans Courtyard and Hammonds Farm B&B in Stroud.

“Following a hugely successful inaugural sale there earlier this year, we’re excited to bring The Somerset Collective back to Jordans Courtyard," said Jess.

"Each pop-up is carefully curated to provide something for everyone, with regular favourites plus new businesses and products introduced at each sale.

“We have so many talented small independent producers here in Somerset and it’s never been more important to keep supporting them.

"With supply chains and festive deliveries facing difficulties this year, The Somerset Collective is a fantastic opportunity to shop local for unique gifts.

"We look forward to welcoming shoppers back to Jordans Courtyard for another terrific event.”

Ten per cent of all proceeds at the pop-up will be donated to The Rosie Crane Trust, a charity supporting bereaved parents.

Carol Crane, founder of the trust, added: “We’re enormously grateful to The Somerset Collective and Jordans Courtyard for their donation to The Rosie Crane Trust.

"Earlier this year, the Somerset Collective pop-up raised more than £2,000 for the trust, helping to support our Listening Ear Helpline, Drop-In Centres, Befriending Service and counselling for thousands of bereaved parents nationwide.

"We’re delighted by their offer to support us once again through their Christmas pop-up sale.”

So far, The Somerset Collective has raised more than £9,000 for causes including We Hear You, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, Yeovil Hospital Maternity Unit, Lisa's Army, The Nelson Trust, Alzheimer’s Society, The British Legion and The Rosie Crane Trust.
