RESIDENTS in Ilminster are working hard to raise money for charity this month, with their plans for the Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning.

Not only is there an event planned at The Archie Gooch Pavilion to support the charity, but one woman is offering a cake delivery service the day before.

Angie Blackwell from Cottage Flowers in Ilminster will be offering her cake delivery service to businesses in and around Ilminster on Friday, September 24.

Businesses will be able to order the cakes, in return for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Angie ‘wholeheartedly’ supports the charity, after she sadly lost her sister to cancer a few years ago.

“I will be making the cakes myself and on the last occasion when this service was offered we had an amazing response,” she said.

“I am hoping that we will do even better this year.”

If you would like to order some cakes, contact Angie at Cottage Flowers on 01460 53020.

There will also be a coffee morning at The Archie Gooch Pavilion on Saturday, September 25.

This will run from 9.30am until noon.

Stalls include cake and jam; books; bag ‘n box; bric-a-brac and bring and buy. All contributions to the stalls will be gratefully received, either on the day, or beforehand at Cottage Flowers.

If you are not able to attend the event to donate to Macmillan, you can drop into Cottage Flowers or visit thyg.uk/BUU004145531 to show your support.
