POLICE are asking for the public’s help to find a man who has not been seen since August and whose car was found abandoned in the town.
The force is appealing for help to trace Michael Wheeler, 37, of Yeovil, after serious concerns for his welfare were raised on Monday, September 16.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Officers have been unable to find Michael to check on him and it seems he has not been home or in contact with anyone since August 24.
“His car was recovered after being found abandoned in the town.
“He has not been in touch with family or friends and has missed several regular appointments, as well as failing to appear at a court hearing for a motoring offence, which has resulted in his being circulated as wanted.
“He is described as white, male, and about 6ft tall.
“As part of the investigation, searches are being carried out at Ham Hill, Stoke sub Hamdon, and at addresses in Yeovil and Crewkerne.
“If you have seen or heard from Michael since Saturday, August 24, or have any information about his whereabouts we want to hear from you.
“If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224244891, or complete our online appeals form.
“You can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.
“No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.”
