Families in Chard are being invited to enjoy a packed programme of free summer activities.
Chard Community Hub is expanding its offer to support parents and carers during the school holidays, offering fun and accessible activities for children of all ages.
Sessions have been developed in partnership with organisations including Young Somerset, Gillingham Grange Care Home, Great Mead, Holyrood Academy, the NHS, and Reach.
Megan Parfoot, early years lead at Chard Community Hub, said: "Our aim is to provide a safe space for families to meet and spend time with people from their local area.
"All of our sessions are free, so please do drop in."
Programmes include Healthy Little Ones, delivered by the health visiting team, and intergenerational reading sessions with residents at Gillingham Grange Care Home.
Families can take part in play sessions, arts and crafts, and cinema-style experiences both at the hub and off-site.
Older children can relax at the Youth Hub, which also offers appointments for relationship and sexual health advice.
The hub offers a range of practical support as well.
A pre-loved school uniform scheme is available on a ‘pay as you can’ basis throughout the summer, helping families prepare for September without added financial pressure.
Holyrood Academy uniform samples are also on hand for fittings, with correct sizes available to order from Price and Buckland.
Additional services at the hub include a community fridge, pantry scheme, RSPCA pet food bank, baby bank, social wellbeing groups, and signposting drop-ins.
These are designed to support the health and wellbeing of families throughout the summer.
