Chard
Meeting Voices
A community choir in Chard is offering a free taster session for prospective members.
Meeting Voices sings in four-part harmony, with no prior experience or music-reading skills required.
The group learns all parts by ear, and no auditions are required.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at Chard Guildhall from 7.15pm to 9.15pm.
The next session will be held on Wednesday, June 17.

Moonshine Hillbillies
An evening of music and food will take over North Down Orchard this week.
On Friday, June 19, the Moonshine Hillbillies will perform from 6pm to 11pm, while The Game Keepers Larder serves hearty fare.
The Moonshine Hillbillies, with more than 30 years of experience each, specialise in rockabilly, country, rock, pop, and indie covers.
The Game Keepers Larder, known for their award-winning Sika venison, will handle the food side of things.
The business, run by Ed and his father Anthony, has won multiple awards for their venison products since 2021.
The orchard is located on the edge of Haselbury Plucknett near Crewkerne.

Marvin Muoneké with The Craig Milverton Trio
A rising jazz artist is set to perform in Ilminster this week.
Marvin Muoneké, known from Britain's Got Talent and The Voice, will sing at Ilminster Arts Centre on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 7.30pm.
Marvin's repertoire spans jazz classics and popular mid-20th-century tunes.
He was nominated for Jazz Artist of the Year at the 2024 Boisdale Music Awards.
Joining him will be The Craig Milverton Trio, a group which is regularly required to back visiting American soloists at festivals and venues across the country.

Gnoss
Gnoss are set to perform in South Petherton this week.
The award-nominated quartet will stage their show at The David Hall in on Friday, June 19, from 8pm.
Renowned for blending traditional roots with contemporary flair, the group, formed by Aidan Moodie, Graham Rorie, Connor Sinclair, and Craig Baxter, promises an evening of characterful songs and tunes.
The band, known for their rich acoustic layers, has garnered a dedicated following.

Dr Jazz Live in Concert
A jazz concert will take place near South Petherton this weekend.
Dr Jazz will perform at All Saints’ Church in Lopen on Saturday, June 20.
The event will run from 7pm to 9pm, with organisers saying attendees are in for a "fun and entertaining" evening.

The Mayor’s Charity Concert & Civic Evening
A charity concert hosted by the mayor is being held in Yeovil this weekend.
The event, held at Westlands Entertainment Venue, will raise funds for Yeovil Bloodbikes and Yeovil Hospital Charity (Dementia Support).
Planned for Saturday, June 20, it will feature performances from Castaway Theatre Group, HMS Heron Royal Navy Volunteer Band, St Michael’s School Choir, Octagon Junior Choir, Yeovil Cadets and Yeovil, and Sherborne and Shaftesbury Rock Choir.
Tickets are priced at £16, with concessions available for £14, both including a £1.50 levy.

A tribute to YouTube sensation Ms Rachel is set to come to Yeovil.
The 'Fun for Little Ones' show will take place at Westlands Entertainment Venue and marks the only tribute of its kind in the UK.
