POLICE have issued a witness appeal after a fire was started deliberately in the Chard area on Thursday (May 14) morning.
Avon and Somerset Police were called just after 4.30am on Thursday to reports of a vehicle fire in Furnham Road, in Chard.
After extinguishing the blaze and investigating the cause, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have now confirmed that the cause of the fire was deliberate.
Police are now investigating the incident and have issued a witness, CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage appeal.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called just after 4.30am today (Thursday 14 May) to reports of a vehicle fire in Furnham Road, in Chard.
“The cause of ignition has now been established as deliberate, and an investigation has been launched.
