A day of family fun, furry friends, and outdoor adventures awaits at an animal sanctuary near Chard next month.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary is set to host its annual Spring Festival on Sunday, April 5, promising a full day of Easter activities, animal encounters, and community celebration.
The event will feature Easter egg hunts, arts and crafts, a pop-up charity shop, and refreshments from the on-site Perdida café.
Admission includes access to the sanctuary grounds, where visitors can meet resident animals, including horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits.
Amy Rendell, corporate and events officer at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, said: "The Spring Festival is one of our absolute favourite events in the calendar.
"After the quieter winter months, the sanctuary is bursting back into life – the fields are greener, the animals are more active and there’s a real sense of energy building ahead of Easter.
"For our team, it’s such a special opportunity to open our gates and share the spring atmosphere with the community.
"Families can explore the grounds, spot the animals and simply enjoy being outdoors together at a time of year that feels full of promise."
Tickets are available at a reduced rate of £5 per adult and £3 per child and can be purchased at ferneanimalsanctuary.org.
Entry to the Easter egg hunt is an additional £2 per person, payable at the visitor centre.
Ms Rendell said: "We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for a day of beautiful spring sunshine to help us celebrate in style.
"Most importantly, every visit makes a difference.
"Events like the Spring Festival help us to raise vital funds to allow us to continue our care for the animals who call Ferne their home.
"We can’t wait to welcome everyone."
The event is open to families, friends, and well-behaved pets of all ages.
