Piano Nights at Westlands
A pianist with international experience is set to perform in Yeovil.
Caroline Wallis-Newport will play at a free piano evening at Westlands Entertainment Venue's Lounge Bar, on Wednesday, February 18, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
A local performer and graduate of the Royal College of Music, she has appeared as a soloist, accompanist, chamber musician, and wedding pianist in London, Denmark, and France.
Venues she has played include Salisbury Cathedral and Wells Cathedral.
Caroline has taught at Sherborne Preparatory School for 10 years and now teaches advanced students privately.
She has also worked as a music adviser for the BBC.
Chard Antiques, Craft, & Vintage Fair
Chard Guildhall is set to host its weekly antiques, craft, and vintage fair on Thursday, February 19.
Since its beginning in 1967, the indoor fair, which will run from 9am to 1pm, is one of the longest-running of its kind in the county.
It offers a variety of stalls every Thursday, featuring antiques and collectables, crafts, jewellery, handmade cards, militaria, and curios.
Tables can be hired from £10.
The event has broadened its scope over time to include crafts and vintage items.

Emilio Santoro as Elvis
One of the world's top Elvis tribute performers is bringing his show to Yeovil.
Emilio Santoro, crowned the 2024 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist World Champion by Elvis Presley Enterprises at Graceland, is set to perform at the Westlands Ballroom on Friday, February 20 at 7.30pm.
Mr Santoro will be accompanied by his band, The Creoles.
The set list includes classics such as Jailhouse Rock, Devil in Disguise, Can’t Help Falling in Love, Hound Dog, and Suspicious Minds.
General admission is £30.50, which includes a £1.50 ticket levy.
A £2 transaction fee also applies.

Chard Community Showcase
A community showcase featuring local organisations, charities, and service providers is set to take place at Chard Guildhall this weekend.
The event is taking place on Saturday, February 21, from 10am to 1.30pm, offering these groups an opportunity to update the community on their activities, forthcoming projects, and prospects.
Participants include Ark at Egwood, Chard Watch, Belly Dance Heaven, Chard Carers Support Group, and the Chard Knitting and Crochet Group.
Other organisations such as Chard Museum, St. John’s Ambulance, and Cinechard will also be participating.
The event will allow people to come and go as they please, and refreshments will be available for a small donation.
BSO On Your Doorstep: Curious Creatures and the Natural World
A performance celebrating the natural world is set to take place in Yeovil.
BSO on Your Doorstep: Curious Creatures & The Natural World, described as a "symphonic venture" through nature, will be performed in Westlands on Saturday, February 21, at 2pm.
The show - suitable for children aged four and above - will feature music by Elgar, Grace Williams, and an orchestral adaptation of a work by Björk.
The event is designed as a "relaxed performance" with higher lighting and a more "relaxed attitude to noise" than a typical concert.

SykesMartin
Two renowned folk singers are set for a performance in South Petherton this weekend.
Show of Hands' Miranda Sykes and Edgelarks' Hannah Martin have joined forces as SykesMartin.
The concert will take place on Saturday, February 21, at The David Hall.

The collaborative project emerged from winter rehearsal sessions, blending their deep knowledge of roots music with new concepts.
