Meeting Voices Community Choir
A Chard community choir is offering a free taster session.
The Meeting Voices Community Choir have been singing together since 2000 and meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.15pm until 9.15pm at the Town Hall in Chard Guildhall.
The next session is on Wednesday, February 4.
The group performs a variety of global songs in four-part harmony.
They require no prior musical experience or ability to read music, as all parts are learned by ear and no auditions are held.

Dnipro Ukrainian National Opera - Carmen
Ukraine's Dnipro Opera will perform Bizet's Carmen in Yeovil this week.
The production features a live orchestra and will take place on Wednesday, February 4, at 7.30pm at Westlands Entertainment Venue's Ballroom.
The opera, set in 19th-century Seville, traces the tragic tale of Don José, a young soldier who falls for, and is ultimately ruined by, the enigmatic femme fatale, Carmen.
Tickets for the show cost £45 for adults, £42 for concessions, and £30 for children, with applicable discounts for Footlights members.
A £1.50 ticket levy is included in all stated ticket prices, and a £2 transaction fee will be added to all bookings.

Beautiful Crazy - The Luke Combs Collection
A new Luke Combs tribute show will play in Yeovil this week.
Beautiful Crazy, starring award-winning country singer Noel Boland and a band led by Sarah Jory, the world’s number one female pedal steel guitar player and BCMA Hall of Fame Inductee, plays the Westlands Ballroom on Thursday, February 5, at 7.30pm.
The band will perform hits including Fast Car, Hurricane, and Beautiful Crazy.
Tickets for the show are £29, with concessions at £27.50.

Petherton Picture Show presents Four Mothers
A film about a chaotic weekend in Dublin will be shown in South Petherton this week.
Petherton Picture Show will screen comedy-drama Four Mothers at the David Hall on Friday, February 6, from 8pm.
The film follows Edward, played by James McArdle, a writer who takes care of his elderly mother, Alma, played by Fionnula Flanagan.
His friends leave their mothers in his care while they go to Gran Canaria for Pride, leading to a hectic weekend.

Uptown Girl - The Billy Joel Collection
A Billy Joel tribute show is coming to Yeovil.
Uptown Girl - The Billy Joel Collection will be performed at Westlands Ballroom, on Friday, February 6.
This two-hour tribute show will include hits such as Piano Man, New York State of Mind, and Uptown Girl.
The stage production features a full band and aims to recreate some of the American singer's iconic performances, including his 1978 appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test and his Wembley concert from 1984.
The event will start at 7.30pm and tickets begin at £24.50.

The Ben Poole Band is set to play in South Petherton this weekend.

Ben Poole, a blues, rock, and soul guitarist, singer, and songwriter, was nominated as one of the "best blues guitarists in the world" by Guitar World Magazine.
