The Bethany Brown's School of Musical Theatre is preparing to welcome students at Holyrood Academy in Chard.
Run by industry professionals, the school will offer group singing, dance, and acting classes suitable for all ages and levels of experience.
Classes, which will run on Saturday mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm, include chances to participate in seasonal concerts, take optional examinations, and create showreels, headshots, and CVs.
Pupils can take part in masterclasses with West End stars and UK touring artists, and also go on trips to watch live theatre events.
Bethany Goodman, founder and CEO of the school, was inspired to start the academy after she joined a Saturday morning theatre school in Tewkesbury in 2007.
She has an academic background, having gained a first-class degree in music and musical theatre from the University of Chichester, and has been in the industry for the past 13 years, working in TV, film, theatre, radio, and concerts.
The teaching team includes Addison Coath, an international award-winning filmmaker who specialises in drama.
Having studied film production at the University of Gloucestershire, Mr Coath has had his work shown at more than 60 national and international festivals.
Darcy Berkley, a professional performer, choreographer, and teacher, will handle the dance classes.
Her work with Netflix, BBC, and various music videos, as well as her training as a Parkinson’s Dance Science Teacher, has cemented her belief that dance is a universal language for all to enjoy.
Students will be divided into three groups - Years Three to Six, Years Seven to Nine, and Years 10 to 13.
For each class, which combines singing, dancing, and drama, the cost is £25 per student.
Payments for lessons have to be made in advance, covering a 'term' of four weeks.
The classes will be conducted in the Drama Studio on Holyrood Academy's lower site where a large parking space will be available for use.
Regular breaks will be held throughout the morning, and students are requested to bring their own snacks and drinks.
