A poetry event will be held in Chard on the 81st anniversary of D-Day.

Organised by Chard Town Council, the event takes place on Friday, June 6 at Chard Guildhall.

The charity, Never Such Innocence, has organised the event, which will see local young people give "powerful reflections" on the theme of conflict.

Several Chard schools will be in attendance, and local poet Clive Sanders has visited many of them to deliver workshops.

Yeovil MP Adam Dance, deputy lord lieutenant Olivia Winterton, and the mayor of Chard will also be attending.
