POLICE officers in Chard reunited a dog with its owner after a “short and safe foot chase”.

Today (Wednesday, April 17) two officers saw a dog walking along a busy road without an owner.

The dog was then retrieved and quickly united with its owner.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Today, PCSOs Andrew and Costa-Stone from the Chard Neighbourhood Policing Team located a dog walking along a busy road without an owner.

“After a short and safe foot chase, the dog was retrieved and quickly reunited with its owner.”

Officers in Chard and surrounding areas also dealt with reports of vehicles without tax, insurance, and MOT.

The police spokesperson added: “Also in previous weeks, officers from both Chard and Crewkerne Neighbourhood Teams dealt with reports of vehicles without valid tax, insurance, and MOT.

“The vehicles were located and seized. The vehicles were seized from Ilminster and Hinton Saint George.”
