VOLUNTEERS and community groups in Chard are working together to collect Christmas presents for families in need.
The Forefront Community Centre, Lord’s Larder Foodbank, Chard Community Hub, and South Chard Church are partnering together to collect donations.
They are urging residents to donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children who might not otherwise receive a Christmas present.
A spokesperson for The Lord’s Larder said: “Last year we were blessed with lots of donations from our community and local businesses.”
The Lord’s Larder Foodbank, on Fore Street, was encouraging Chard residents to donate and help the community last year as well.
The first appeals were launched during Covid and then volunteers decided to help the community by collecting presents for Christmas every year.
The deadline for sending gifts for this Christmas is Friday, November 29 and drop off is at Forefront Community Centre, Chard Community Hub, and South Chard Church.
If you would like to donate but are unable to get to a drop-off point, you can call The Lord’s Larder office on 01460 66080 or e-mail martyna.lee@forefront.org.uk to arrange a collection.
