CHARD Fire Station has shared details of “another busy month”.
The service said crews received 30 emergency fire calls in April and added that the early May bank holiday weekend “has also been busy”.
A spokesperson for the service said: “April saw another busy month for Chard crews, we were alerted to emergency fire calls 30 times. Below is a snapshot of the incidents we attended.
“The early May bank holiday weekend has also been busy, a crew from Chard was mobilised to the thatch roof fire at Porlock.”

1 x Alarms carbon monoxide
2 x Fire vehicle small
4 x Fire in the open small
2 x Persons collapsed gain entry/access
1 x Assist other agency
2 x Persons locked out
1 x small animal rescue
1x flooding from internal source
2 x RTC persons trapped
