ANOTHER dental practice in Chard has announced its closure and its “clinicians are being moved to other practices within the group”.

Chard House Dental Practice, on 21 Leach Road, said it will close on April 30.

The practice, which has both NHS and private patients and is part of the Rodericks Dental Group, said they are closing “due to circumstances outside of our control”.

A spokesperson for Chard House Dental Practice said: “The practice is sadly closing on 30th April 2023 due to circumstances outside of our control.

“We have both NHS and private patients here. Our clinicians are being moved to other practices within the group.”

A spokesperson for Rodericks Dental confirmed that "the practice is closing, due to circumstances outside of our control" and added, "we are in touch with our patients directly".

The news comes after a {my}dentist branch in Fore Street announced last month that it will close on Friday, March 31.

A spokesperson for {my}dentist said: “In common with many dental practices across the country, we have faced significant challenges in recruiting clinicians.

“Unfortunately, as a result, our practice on Fore Street in Chard will close on March 31.

“We’re in contact with patients to inform them of the changes and urge those with appointments in the meantime to attend the practice as usual.”

Residents also had to face the closure of a GP practice, Springmead Surgery.

The surgery closed on February 24 and care was transferred to Ariel Healthcare.

Announcing the closure, Springmead Surgery said that the “difficult decision has been taken due to ongoing staff shortages and recruitment problems, an issue that affects the NHS nationally”.
