AN 11-YEAR-OLD has raised more than £1000 with a Halloween fundraiser to help rejuvenate a park in her village.

Kaitlyn, from Broadway, raised £1034 during Halloween by organising a party, a raffle, a tombola, and a tunnel of terror.

The party took place at Broadway Village Hall and was attended by 100 children.

The money raised will go towards new playground equipment at Broadway Village Park.

Nicola Harrop, Kaitlyn’s mum, said: “She contacted local businesses in our village in Broadway and they all sponsored a hamper for the raffle.

“Then she threw a Halloween party and she sold 100 tickets, it was fun.

“The parish council is raising funds to improve the village park so she wanted to do a bit for that and help rejuvenate the park.

“She also went to the parish council meeting to present the cheque and she is been invited to the park when the rejuvenation project will take place.

“There are not many kids that work so hard at that age that work so hard. She found a little passion for charity work and we try to help her as much as we can.

“It is really humbling that she is so willing to give up her time. She put so much time and effort into in doing this for other people.

“She is the kindest little girl and we are so proud of her.”

Kaitlyn previously raised £200 with a village Easter egg hunt to help children in Ukraine.
