NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 11 of South Somerset’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

The Somerset Cheesecakery in Ilminster, the Green Dragon near Chard, and Avalon Healing in Crewkerne were among the premises that received five out of five ratings.

Restaurants, cafes, and canteens
The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Cow and Apple at 8-10 Church Street, Yeovil, Somerset; rated on October 7
• Rated 5: Avalon Healing at 1a Church Street, Crewkerne, Somerset; rated on October 6
• Rated 5: The Farmyard at The Farmyard, Yarlington, Shatwell Wincanton; rated on October 6
• Rated 5: Shakspeare Glass at Great Western House, Westover, Langport, Somerset; rated on October 5
• Rated 5: The Somerset Cheesecakery at 33 Silver Street, Ilminster, Somerset; rated on September 29 Pubs, bars and nightclubs And four ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:
• Rated 5: The Green Dragon at Combe Hill, Combe St Nicholas, Chard Somerset; rated on October 18
• Rated 5: The Stonemasons at Harts Close, Ilminster, Somerset; rated on October 12 • Rated 5: Quicksilver Mail at 168 Hendford Hill, Yeovil, Somerset; rated on October 7 • Rated 5: The Walnut Tree at Fore Street, West Camel, Yeovil Somerset; rated on October 6
