A RENOWNED arranger, choral director, and vocal coach will be a guest note speaker at this year’s Somerset Music Annual Conference.

Mark De-Lisser will attend the conference tomorrow, Friday, October 14 between 8.45am-3.45pm at Dillington House, near Ilminster.

Mark De-Lisser is one of the most respected and sought-after choral directors & vocal coaches in the UK. He is also a husband and father of three.

Following his time studying at Colchester Institute, Mark went on to train in MA Voice Studies at the Central School of Speech and Drama and subsequently obtained a PGCE in Music Education from the Institute of Education.

Mark then became a lecturer at The Brit School of Performing Arts, Academy of Contemporary Music and Westminster University before moving on to focus on TV vocal coaching, working on the following shows:

• The Masked Singer (ITV)
• The Voice (BBC1)
• Queen of the Universe (Paramount+)
• All Together Now (BBC1) • Pitch Battle (BBC1)

Mark’s skills then turned to presenting and since 2019 has worked on the following shows incorporating both presenting and vocal coaching:

• Songs of Praise (BBC1)
• Commonwealth Youth Awards (Online)
• Children in Need (BBC1)
• Meet The Street at Christmas (BBC1)

Mark has also been the Live Show Producer for The Virtual Big Sing, bringing tens of thousands of children together to sing with their idols (virtually).

Artists featured in the Virtual Big Sing include Jessie J, the Kingdom Choir, the BeatBox Collective, Danny Jones, Camilla Kerslake, MNEK, Becky Hill, Gabrielle, Aston Merrygold, Nathan Evans, Red, Kirsten Joy, Marisha Wallace, Alexandra Burke, and Professor Green.

He has also worked on some of the UK most watched TV shows including BBC’s BAFTA-nominated Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure, Songs of Praise, and ITV’s award-winning The Masked Singer.

Mark is the proud founder of Singology choir; a London-based community choir established in 2004 that featured as the first-ever community choir to sing for the Queen’s Christmas speech in 2021).

He regularly teaches at many recognised educational institutions around the world including ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) where is founded the multi-award winning ACM Gospel Choir in 2006.
