ONE HUNDRED Sunflower Strollers joined St Margaret’s Hospice for a walk in memory of loved ones.

The walk started at Aldon fields, meandering through Ninesprings and back through Aldon to the Yeovil hospice.

Many supporters took part in memory of a loved one embracing the chance to reflect while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

After the walk, supporters gathered at the Yeovil hospice gardens for cream tea, prosecco and live music from Nick Coleman and Flo Parker Bombosch.

Walkers dedicated sunflower memory markers in tribute to a loved one, which are being displayed in the Yeovil Garden until the end of September when they will be moved to the Taunton hospice for two weeks.

Ellie Weston, marketing and events officer, said: “Thank you to everyone who attended our Sunflower Stroll, we had a fantastic day and were humbled to hear all the lovely stories and memories shared.

“It was an especially poignant afternoon given the passing of Her Majesty the Queen only a few days earlier and many people mentioned that the news had brought back memories of their own loss.

“The money we raised through donations and sponsorship will help us continue to support patients and their families in the Yeovil area and beyond.”
