THE A303 Southfields roundabout to Crewkerne (A356) will be affected by overnight closures and road resurfacing works next month

The work will start on the evening of Monday, October 10 and finish on the morning of Friday, October 21 and will take place overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads.

To minimise disruption, the work will take place on weeknights only when there are fewer vehicles on the road.

The road will be open as usual during the day.

The work is currently programmed as follows:

• Monday 10 October to Friday 21 October – overnight closure of the westbound carriageway including A356 Prophets Lane entry and exit slips. Weeknights for 9 nights from 8pm until 6am the following morning.

• Tuesday 18 October to Friday 21 October – overnight closure of the eastbound and westbound carriageway including A356 Prophets Lane entry and exit slips. Weeknights for 3 nights from 8pm until 6am the following morning.

There will be a fully signed diversion route in place during the full overnight closures, but please allow extra time for your journey.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: “We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.

“We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes. Please monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep updated.
