LADIES were challenged to walk two and a half miles each to raise funds for the Stroke Association or local stroke group but the Inner Wheel Club of Chard helped sponsor Desi Fradgley to walk a total of 60 miles.
The final few miles were along the old railway line from Chard to The George in Donyatt, where she met other club members.
Sponsorship from members and friends raised £204 which, in her capacity as this year’s club president, Desi, was delighted to present to Chris Williams and members of the Chard and Crewkerne After Stroke Group at their recent meeting.
The club meets weekly and provides information and peer support, rehabilitation, and offers social and recreational activities including games, exercise, outings, talks, and presentations by visiting speakers and, importantly, enjoy lunch.
