AN inquest has been opened into the death of a 22-year-old woman who died after a collision near Ilminster.

Jade Coles, from Chard, died in a collision involving the Vauxhall Corsa she was driving and a lorry on the A358 in Ashill, near Ilminster.

The incident took place on Tuesday, May 10, at about 8.25am.

Paying tribute to the 22-year-old, Jade’s family said: “Jade was always such a loving and caring girl; even if she did drive us mad at times, this is the last thing she ever deserved.

“She was brutally honest but would never see anybody go without.

“She touched the hearts of so many people; adored by family, friends, work colleagues, and all the children and families she cared for.

“Jade, we love you so much our angel. You will forever be with us. Maybe not in person but always in our hearts.”

Jade’s family previously added: “We would like to send out a huge thank you to all the emergency services that helped her when she needed it the most, but sadly her injuries were too bad to save her.”

Somerset Coroner Service confirmed an inquest was opened last month (June 15) and a spokesperson added that “at present investigations are continuing”.
