The Chard Local Kids Society is set to perform Aladdin on three different dates at the end of June and the beginning of July.
The amateur musical theatre society for children took a big hit in 2020 as a result of the covid lockdown.
It had started preparing for The King and I, but was forced to shut down completely, leaving the children and adults devastated.
The society was kept going through regular online contact, including videos from the cast and crew. As soon as it became possible, members started back with bubbles, following strict rules and regulations, only to be shut down again at Christmas.
But in January 2022 they embarked upon their first big show in two years, Disney’s Aladdin.
Despite the trials and tribulations, they have a 34 strong cast, with the exciting prospect of a waiting list once again in the pipeline.
The show is to be performed in the Chard Guildhall on Thursday June 30 at 7.30pm, Friday, July 1, at 7.30pm, and Saturday, July 2, at 3pm and 7.30pm.
