The artist showed the families his workshop and how he creates the art and gave every child who visited a small glass pebble.

Linda Kellaway, school administrator, said: “The school began working with John, a local glasswork artist, during Somerset Art Week when we took families to visit the artworks in his garden at Forton.

“He showed the families his workshop and how he creates the art and gave every child who visited a small glass pebble.”

After that, the children who visited launched a competition for the whole school to design a nature-themed picture to be made into a glass plaque for our wellbeing garden at school.

Mr Payne and the arts ambassadors worked together to choose five winning designs that he has re-created from glass for us to display in the school's wellbeing garden.
