AN AWARD-winning ensemble will play in Somerset in the coming months.

The Pelléas Ensemble was formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011.

Playing with “verve and polish” (The Times), they won the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award in 2018, and the 2017 Elias Fawcett Award for Outstanding Chamber Ensemble at the Royal Overseas League competition.

The ensemble will play in Somerset in March and April:

Thursday 31 March 2022 – Methodist Church, Minehead – 7.00pm;
Friday 1 April 2022 – Bridport Arts Centre – 11.30am;
Friday 1 April 2022 – Ilminster Arts Centre – 7.30pm;
Saturday 2 April 2022 – The Dance House, Crewkerne – 7.30pm;
Sunday 3 April 2022 – Church of St Roch, Pendomer – 3pm.

In 2016 they won both the Grand Prize and the Audience Prize in the St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition and were awarded a place on the prestigious Tillett Trust Young Artists Programme.

In 2015 they won First Prize at the British Harp Chamber Music Competition.

They are joined for this tour by harpist Anne Denholm, who replaces their regular harpist, Oliver Wass, who is out of the country for 2022.
