POLICE from Devon and Somerset have been taking part in a cross-border operation to disrupt criminals using the roads in the two counties.
Neighbourhood officers from Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne joined their colleagues from Devon and Cornwall Police in the operation on Monday and Wednesday this week (January 26 and 28).
Over the course of the two days, numerous vehicles were stopped and dealt with for a range of offences ranging from dirty number plates to no insurance.
Some vehicles were seized and removed form the road as a result.
The action was also in conjunction with the DVLA, with police acting on their behalf to confiscate vehicles for expired tax.
A man was arrested on a warrant after being stopped by police for committing road traffic offences.
South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing spokesperson said: "The aim of this operation was to disrupt criminals using the roads around the Somerset and Devon border."
