FIRE crews attended a car on fire that was “well alight” on their arrival.
The incident took place in Chard in the early hours of Friday, December 31, at around 3.32am, and the cause of the fire “was deemed deliberate ignition”.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “One fire appliance attended a car on fire that was well alight on arrival.
“Crews put the fire out using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, and a thermal imaging camera. The vehicle sustained severe damage and the cause was deemed deliberate ignition.”
A spokesperson also added the car was “50 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent damaged by smoke”.
