CHARD drivers have been rapped by police for ignoring road closed signs in the town.
The motorists are being urged to follow diversions rather than driving through roads where works are being carried out.
They are also being told they could be putting road worker's lives at risk.
A South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team spokesperson took to social media to say: "Police have been made aware of several vehicles driving through the road closures in Chard.
"Please remember road closures are there for a reason and it is an offence to drive through a road closure.
"You could be putting a road workers life at risk by driving through a closure."
