A MAN who played a ‘key part’ in organising gigs in Chard has sadly passed away.
Lawrence Cummins, who helped to start the Big Green Gig and Earth Hour Chard, died last month.
Lawrence learnt to play the bass guitar and then joined the band New Arrival.
The team at the Big Green Gig have paid tribute to the man who ‘had a lifelong passion for music’.
They said: “His musical career took him from church music to jam sessions and open mic events.
“Laurence was doing these right up until recently and had played thousands of gigs during his lifetime.
“A supportive to all musicians and people that he came in contact with.
“The team at the Big Green Gig are grateful for his friendship, his commitment and talent that allowed him to work with musicians and bands of all genres.
“Laurence will be missed and our thoughts are with his family.”
