POLICE say they will work with the family of a vulnerable man who has sparked several large scale emergency services searches in recent years.

Vasco Macedo, of Chard, has been found by police following his latest disappearance.

Portuguese man Vasco, 39, who has learning difficulties and speaks little English, was last seen on January 12 in The Chimes, Forton.

At the time, police issued an appeal for information to find him, saying he was believed to have a mountain bike with him.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said he appears shy and likes to hide in disused buildings, usually roaming around at night time.

South Somerset Police said today (Saturday) that Vasco has been found.

They tweeted: "We will be doing ongoing work with our partners & the family to find ways to not have him go again."

They added: "Thank you to all those in Chard who were keeping an eye out for him."
