FIRE spread from a burning car in a courtyard on Fore Street in Chard.
Crews were called to reports a car was on fire shortly after 1.50am today.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue service said the cause of the fire was deliberated and called the police.
The fire in the car, which was parked next to a wooden building, spread to another vehicle.
A fire service spokesman said: “Two fire appliances from Chard were mobilised to a car on fire in a courtyard, where the vehicle was up against a wooden building.
“Crews arrived on scene and got to work tackling the fire, which was spreading from one vehicle to a second and to the adjacent buildings.
“Crews confirmed the cause as deliberate and requested the Police attendance. Two vehicles and two buildings were involved in the fire and were damaged.”
