MEMBERS of the 1st Chard Wheelers are appealing for cyclists to saddle up for the South Somerset Bikeathon on Sunday, June 27.
The club will be taking part in the event to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in memory of former Chard dentist Richard Faulkingham, who lost his life to the disease.
Last year they raised £1,000 for the charity and hope to beat that total this weekend.
The fundraiser starts at 11am at RNAS Merryfield in Ilton.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the riders should contact Toby at the Springside Dental Practice, Fore St, Chard, or make a donation online via chardandilminsternews.co.uk Pictured are 1st Chard Wheelers members and their supporters at last year’s bikeathon.
